“I recently took my 12-year-old son for a haircut. When we arrived, one barber was outside, one was sitting inside, and another was with a customer. I spoke to the barber inside, who asked if we had booked. When I said no, he went outside and asked his colleague to come in and cut my son’s hair. I explained that my son wanted a taper fade with nothing taken off the top. Before starting, the barber told me the haircut would cost £30, which surprised me as the website advertises a child’s haircut at £25. When I queried the difference while paying, I was told it was because the barber was more experienced. I don’t have an issue with experienced barbers charging more if that’s the business’s pricing policy. My concern is that this wasn’t explained to me before the haircut, and I wasn’t given the option to wait for a barber charging the advertised price. Had I known there were different rates depending on the barber, I would have chosen to wait. It’s only £5, but these extra charges add up over time. I think the shop could improve its transparency by clearly displaying which barbers charge different prices, both in-store and on the website. That would allow customers to make an informed choice before the service begins. The haircut itself was good, but clearer pricing would have made for a much better customer experience. Just be aware of the discrepancy in charges before you take a seat.”
